  • Famous Nigerian Singers include, Timaya, 2face Idibia, Flavour, Mr. P, Rude Boy, Olamide, Kiss Daniel, Joe Boy, Fire Boy and many others..

So I was thinking, why don’t we shift today’s Nigerian Celebrity  News to the music section of the industry and focus our gaze on some Famous Nigerian Singers?

There are many famous Nigerian singers in the country today but some are way higher than others on that chart. Some have attained an higher level of fame and relevance while others are just not that famous.

So do not be offended if the list fails to contain the names of your favorite Nigerian Singer.

What that simply means is that they are not as famous as the names listed here even though they are also famous. As we already know not all celebrities are EQUAL!

I think at the moment it is quite easy to actually make a powerful list of famous Nigerian singers because they are actually the reigning kings and queens and for some of them they have stayed so relevant from day one that fame has become synonymous with their brand.

There are other categories to which our celebrities fall into. Like Bald Nigerian Celebrities , Hottest Nigerian male Celebrities and Nigerian Female Celebrities On Low Cut.

But today we will be talking about them based on how popular their craft has made them.

Famous Nigerian Singers with songs that has made headlines, be it in the past or this very minute as long as their name is still known in the right circles and by core Nigerian music fans.

The whole idea is to create a comprehensive list of singers who became famous and are still famous.

Famous Nigerian singers who were able to stand out among their peers. And even though most of them have not released any songs for couple of years now, their high level of fame is still keeping their name relevant in the industry.

This dude is one of Nigeria’s RnB favorites. He has been singing love songs from the start of his career, up to this very moment.

His songs are of the hook and his dancing moves are just as good as his as his lyrics.

11. Rude Boy

Rude Boy is the other part of what P-square became after their break up. He took with him the singing that made P-square one of the favourite groups in Nigeria and Africa at large.

The man can sing with so much emotion. In fact listening to h58s songs is like listening P-square doing their thing.

These are power ladies, in the sense that they are achievers and consequently influencers of public opinion.

This lady is a special breed. She carries herself through her nostalgic voice like someone with a message from the Oracle.

She is in a class of her own and her aura, speaks of a woman that once played the role of a story teller, selling her tales to those who dare to listen.

She could easily be categorized into One of the finest female singer to have come out of Nigeria.

She is unique!

19. Simi

When i first heard her voice, i knew she was sent to melt our hearts with her soft love stories. She started her career as a gospel singer, releasing her debut studio album in 2008, titled Ogaju.

But somewhere, somehow decided that telling us love stories was better than pouring worship rendition to the most high through church songs alone. I guess she realized that it is through the human emotion of love that one can really touch the heart of God.

Now she is pouring those Afro-Pop love songs and we just cant get enough. Simi is a blessing to the Nigerian Music Industry.

20. Tiwa Savage

She is the most famous of all the Nigerian celebrities mentioned on this post. Not because she is the most talented but simply because she is fortunate enough to have the right connect and the right singles that a lot of Nigerians can relate to.

She started with some of the big male names that we have today under the same Record Label and so shared with them success of that period.

Her debut studio album Once Upon a Time was released on 3 July 2013.

21. Yemi Alade

Of all the Nigerian Female Singers Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage are the only ones that seem to carry a silent rivalry. One trying to outdo the other on that race for the crown of Queen Of The Dance Hall.

But Yemi Alade is more consistent when it comes to pouring out constant dance hall tunes. Obviously all of her songs were primarily designed to make people dance.

But that does not mean she is the person to wear the crown because Tiwa Savage is known for quality over quantity and is responsible for many dance hall national anthems in the country.

22. Seyi Shay

There is a foreign feel to her songs.

She was the lead singer for the now defunct pop girl group From Above. The group got signed to Sony’s Columbia Records and was managed by Mathew Knowles’ Music World Entertainment company.

Teni started gaining prominence after releasing the single “Fargin” in September 2017.

27. Niyola

Now that is the face of a lady who gave us good songs and visuals to go with them when there very few female singers in the country that could provide such quality.

On May 22, 2013, she released the single “Toh Bad“, her first release under the Empire Mates Entertainment by Banky W. That song would make really popular.

28. Mo’Cheddah

She use to be very much around when it comes to song making but these days, it would seem that she is on a long hiatus because of some fear of the industry.

She released her debut studio album, Franchise Celebrity (2010), while signed to Knighthouse Entertainment.

According to reports gathered from an interview she granted, she actually had to battle depression due to the hostility and hate she experienced in the music industry.

Is that why nobody is hearing from her musically.

We hope she comes back soon. We miss her kind of music.

29. Cynthia Morgan

She was the bomb!

The real dance hall Queen. Who just woke one day and decided that she was going to starve Nigerians and with that decision came her very long long absence.

And she is seriously one very hot famous Nigerian singer.
